Parkour

Parkour is a method of movement whose aim is to get as efficiently as possible from point A to point B with the abilities of one's own body.

The park ranger determines his own way through the urban or natural space - in a different way than given by architecture and culture. An attempt is made to overcome the obstacles which are in the way by combining different movements as efficiently as possible. Movement flow and control are the main focus. Parkour is therefore also referred to as "the art of efficient movement".

It can be done on an obstacle course or is usually practiced in a creative reinterpretation of an urban space.

Parkour is not yet a competitive sport. They like to be run by teenagers, because you can use almost all places and objects. In Wolfhagen this highly demanding sport is offered by

Athletics

Athletics is very versatile and can be adapted to the individual strengths of the individual athlete. Beginning in the student classes is usually with the Mehrkampf, thus the training in many disciplines. Training includes many elements such as running training, coordination, general strengthening, technical training, perpetual training, sprints and jumping runs as well as specific strength training. All together is extremely important for the development of children and therefore very healthy.
If, in the youth age, clear strengths develop, more and more disciplines are trained. There then develop e.g.

Sprint runners
Hurdler
Shotgun
Hammer throw
Discus throw
High jump
Pole high jumpers
Jumping
Three-turn-jump

and much more.

Whoever is good in all disciplines, of course, the "king discipline", the ten or seventh fight can be the first choice.
Although athletics is an individual sport by its very nature, athletics can also be operated as a great team sport. On the contrary to the individual competition, a team ability is required in order to achieve a promising competition result (sum of individual prizes). This means that you must also have the ability to work in athletics in order to be successful in a group. Since the team evaluation is at the forefront, the individual athlete has to do his best not only in "his discipline". This is a great way to weld the individual athletes together. And is a very important experience for children and young people alike.
In Wolfhagen several clubs offer the challenging but beautiful sport of athletics:

Running / Road-/Crossrunning

Running is actually part of the great sport of athletics. But running in Germany is extremely popular, so we have an extra sport for it.
Because walking is also very healthy, many people walk in their spare time (for example, before work or after work) on the outskirts or in the forest. Sometimes alone, sometimes for two or more. This is called "jogging" and it is always without a sports club. It is not so much the length of the route, but the well-being of the body. Everyone can run as long or as long as he has fun.

When running as a sport, however, there are already defined lengths, which are differentiated in:
- Short circuit (also called sprint): runs up to 400m (1 round the sports field Pommernanlage)
- Medium section: runs up to 1500m
- Long distance: Runs from 2000m up to the marathon.
- In addition, there is also the Ultralanglauf

Within the scope of these lengths, there are many variations, whether in the hall, in the stadium, in the field or forest, on the street or in the mountains,

With us in Wolfhagen there are 2 very special events in the running.
On the one hand there is the "Wolfhager Volkslauf" in the spring, which is organized by the association "Lauf-Team Wolfhagen"

On the other hand we have the "Winterlauf-Serie" by TSV Blau-Weiß Ippinghausen.

In this race series, 3 starts at 4 races take place between November and February.

At both events, hundreds of people from all over Hesse are flocking to Wolfhagen.

TSV Niederelsungen offers excellent opportunities for children and young people.
Experienced coaches and talented junior trainees offer children aged between 6 and 18 years old training with a lot of fun in TSV.

Whoever wants to run the sprint / short circuits is well cared for in the athletics-group in the VfL Wolfhagen

Skittles / Bowling

Skittles is a precision sport in which a player rolls a ball from one end of a smooth track (bowling alley) with a controlled swing to move the 9 cones placed at the other end of the track. The cones are arranged evenly in the form of a square, which is located on the tip (diamond). From bowling, and thus closely related to it, is the bowling, in which ten cones (pins) are placed in the form of an equilateral triangle. Big difference Bowling to bowling: While bowling some fingers into holes in the ball, so the cone has no holes. Bowling is used as a performance and broad sport, but is much more popular as a leisure game.

Also in Wolfhagen, bowling is very popular. On various bowling alleys this beautiful sport is played by leisure groups. This has to be organized and paid as a group by the provider of skittle alleys (restaurants, DGH`s, church etc.).

As a sport, this beautiful sport in Wolfhagen is offered by the

Karting / Motorsports

The Kartsport (also known as karting) is the part of the motorsport, in which the racers use small, motorized vehicles called karts on special kart competitions. In addition, there is also the hobby-possibility, where everyone can go on slopes, which are often in halls (but also on occasionally correct karting), to the pastime cart. These have about 8-10 hp and reach a speed of about 80 km / h.

Because of their simple and lightweight design, karts are very fast and agile. They can reach speeds of over 150 km / h. Due to the low center of gravity only a few centimeters above the road, high karting speeds are achieved in kartsport, which leads to a strong physical stress (up to 4 G). Kartsport is also run by children and teenagers. (Source: wikipedia.de)

Why this site...

Physical well-being is the foundation to enjoy life and to be successful. And it is precisely the sport that offers the opportunity to achieve and increase this physical well-being. But sport can do much more. Throwing a football or basketball into a group of people, then people start playing without big words, whether in Germany, Syria, Afghanistan or anywhere else in the world.

And so Sport is one major pillar of integration. Sport in Germany is often offered only in clubs. This site is designed to help Wolfhager refugees, newcomers and sports enthusiasts to explore the diverse sporting activities offered by Wolfhager clubs, to integrate into existing sports and cultural associations, and to take advantage of the diverse offerings.
On the other hand, the clubs should be offered a platform to present their offers to new citizens - even without their own homepage.

You will be supported by the sport town Wolfhagen in person of the "sport coach" Heiko Weiershäuser and the sports development officer Daniel Köntopf.
In order to reduce linguistic barriers, the volunteer organizer has placed great emphasis on the multilingualism of the site from the outset. If the translation (with Google-Translator) is not always understandable, so I apologize.

We want to bring people together. Have fun with "Sport in Wolfhagen"
smile
